Current Project
Transcription factors play a key role in lineage commitment and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) into distinct mature cells. In hematopoiesis they regulate lineage-specific gene expression in a stage-specific manner through various physical and functional interactions with regulatory proteins that are simultanously recruited and activated to ensure timely gene expression. In line with this important role, deregulation of transcription factors can drive leukemogenic onset. I am trying to elucidate the role of key transcription factors in HSCs using phenotypic, functional and mechanistic assays.
